About the IAF

Pioneered by MK Rabbi Binyamin Elon, the Israel Allies Foundation (IAF) works with parliaments around the world to mobilize political support for Israel based on Judeo-Christian values.

The Foundation is dedicated to the purpose of promoting communication and information sharing between parliamentarians and legislators the world over who share a belief that the State of Israel has the right to exist in peace within secure borders.

In 2004 a group of Israeli Parliament (Knesset) members gathered together to form the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus. Spanning the spectrum of political parties in Israel, they came together to acknowledge the growing strength of the Israel-supporting community within the Christian world and the need to develop better ties between Knesset Members and pro-Israel leaders from traditionally and culturally Christian countries worldwide.

In 2006 the U.S. House of Representatives formed the first reciprocal caucus to the Knesset Caucus, the Congressional Israel Allies Caucus. Since then additional caucuses have been formed in Uruguay, Brazil, South Africa, Finland, England, Australia, The Philippines, South Korea, Canada, and list continues to grow.

The Israel Allies Foundation (IAF) was formed to become the umbrella for coordinated activities of these caucuses from around the globe. Together they work to bring a unified voice on issues and legislation regarding Israel world-wide.

Our Work

The Israel Allies Foundation supports the Israel Allies Caucuses in different Parliaments in its leadership role within the European Parliament as well as the national parliaments, and seeks to engage and interact interfaith leaders and organizations with this important body of lawmakers. The Israel Allies Caucuses are bipartisan and aim to spearhead pro-Israel initiatives in Parliament. Not only does the Caucus condemn both political and physical attacks on the Jewish State, but it seeks to pre-empt initiatives designed to weaken Israel’s international standing and security.

This vital work is accomplished through cooperative initiatives and events and has led to briefings on pertinent issues, press conferences, and hosting interfaith events that highlight the Caucuses’ legislative initiatives with leaders from around Europe.

The Foundation addresses a range of issues, most of which are spearheaded by the relevant Caucuses. These issues include moving the embassies from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's united capital, addressing Iranian nuclear ambitions, making sure European funding does not go to terror connected entities, fighting against the delegitimization of Israel, and holding the UN and UNRWA accountable.  These issues are gravely important as EU and European foreign policy have a strategic bearing on our countries' security.

The Israel Allies Foundation is working to support our members in Parliament in their fight to keep Europe strong, and see Israel as a true ally in the Middle East.
