Rabbi Binyamin Elon, Chairman Emeritus

Former Israeli Minister of Tourism and Member of Knesset Rabbi Binyamin (Benny) Elon is the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Israel Allies Foundation.

MK Elon served as a Member of Knesset from the 14th to the 17th Knesset (1996-2009). During this period of time he served as:

Chairman of the Knesset Science and Technology Committee
Chairman of the Knesset Christian Allies Caucus
Chairman of the National Union-NRP (Ichud Leumi-Mafdal) slate
Chairman of the Moledet Party
Member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee
Member of the Law and Justice Committee
One of the two Knesset representatives on the Committee for the Appointment of Judges

MK Elon has been active in public affairs for many years. His most prominent work includes preserving the unity of Jerusalem as Israel‘s undivided and eternal capital. He is well known not only for his political acumen, but for his ability to translate his sound ideological philosophies into workable solutions.

A main focal point of MK Elon’s activities is to strengthen Israel‘s political standing in the western world and specifically in the United States, Europe and Latin America. In addition to strengthening traditional Jewish relationships with Israel, he has developed excellent relations with the Christian community, politicians and prominent public figures.

It is MK Elon‘s cherished dream to strengthen the relationships between Jews and Christians all over the world.

Born in 1954, MK Elon is a ninth-generation Jerusalemite.  He has Rabbinic ordination and is married to popular newspaper columnist and author Emunah. They are the proud parents of six children grandparents of fourteen grandchildren.
