U.S. and Israeli leaders have developed close relations based on common perceptions of shared democratic values and religious affinities. Unfortunately, some members of the U.S Government criticize this close cooperation and this has led to some level of strained relations between the two democratic nations . None-the-less, Israel is a leading recipient of U.S. foreign aid and is a frequent purchaser of major U.S. weapons systems. The IAF is predicated on the goal to further U.S – Israel relations and bring about full U.S political, financial, and military support for Israel.
